Debevoise & Plimpton is a leading international law firm and their London office has more than 90 lawyers, including 19 partners and 11 international counsel. The office is part of an integrated European practice and the London lawyers work closely with their colleagues in Paris, Frankfurt and Moscow, as well as with lawyers in their other offices in the US and Asia.
Continuity of operation was the key objective during D&P’s relocation to new premises, which was conducted by B&S, in collaboration with Baird Relocations, across a phased 5 week period at the end of 2013.
In advance of the main move which took place over one weekend with a pre move the weekend before, 2,500 linear metres of files and archives, together with an extensive library, were transferred to the new site. Following this, our specialist IT teams de-commissioned and re-commissioned the workstations of 300 staff, while the move teams (136 people) used 5000 crates and 26 vehicles to complete their stage of the task.
Project Manager, Amanda Runacres, thanked B&S: ‘Michael and Lee headed a brilliant team, and their help and support was invaluable. I can’t thank them enough.’
Complex moves for clients such as Debevoise & Plimpton, where the misplacement of even one file could be significant for their business, have become routine tasks for B&S over our many years of experience working with Blue Chip accounts.
